One way to spread the word about a book or author is through book festivals or fairs. I was looking up festivals the other day and found one in Tucson, Arizona where a friend recently moved. So guess what I’m thinking about for next year?
I don’t know about you, but when we get into mid-October, I like things to be cool. I’m done with 90 degree weather. Last week was perfect: cool mornings and evenings, warm days. A wonderful way to read in the early mornings with hot tea, and in the evenings to read with a mug of cocoa.
Here is my ‘stack’ of books to read right now:
I can’t believe it’s time for my monthly reading wrap-up already! They seem to come faster and faster as we move through the year. Fall came overnight here, and we are now in the 50s at night and 70s in the day. Loving it! (The first day of fall, we were in the 90s!)
This month, I read fewer books as I’m going through edits in Heir Force, my military romance coming out next year, and because we started classes at our Connell Christian Academy (homeschool).
Since I am a book lover, and many of you are also, I thought we’d talk about the number of books we have in our to-be-read (TBR) piles or lists.
This week’s writing prompt is all about where inspiration comes from. People often ask me where I got the idea for Cookie Encounter, and I have to say that when I started writing it, I had no ideas for the who, what, when, where or how. I thought the book I started writing on November 1st, 2007 would be a mystery!
I wanted to thank you all for the great response to my giveaway of Cookie Encounter on GoodReads. The response was fantastic with over 1100 people entering! One winner is from Pennsylvania and one from West Virginia.
As you know, I love books. I love to read them, I used to review them (still do occasionally), I collect them and now I write them. So, this week’s prompt is all about books-but in what format do you prefer? My answer is below.
I’ve been busy watching a couple webinars to help me get my book more readily acceptable for libraries. I am excited about what I’ve learned and will be busy over the next several weeks working on an updated version of Cookie Encounter (just adding category info for librarians). That’s what I’ve been up to lately.
For this week’s prompt, let’s talk about pets. Are you a dog person or a cat person or a fish or gerbil type person? My prompt answer is below.
I can’t believe June is almost over! Since this is the last Friday of the month, it’s time for my reading wrap up.
For this week’s prompt, let’s talk about books. Which genres do you enjoy reading the most? Historical fiction? Mysteries? Romance? Sci fi? Nonfiction?
