In the Writer’s House #34: Summer Writing Time is Dwindling!! #amwriting

Oh, my gosh! Where did this summer go? Actually, unfortunately, I know where it went. Mostly to physical therapy and exercises and not to writing 😦 But, I am free once again and hard at work on novel number 3.

I’ve also been doing a lot of reading! If you missed my posts about my staggering 83-book library pile, you can read them here and here. You’ll be happy to know, I’ve whittled my pile down and have sent some back. 🙂

Many of the books are on flea market or vintage decor, decluttering, built-ins, etc for my novel in progress, Accident Encounter, where my heroine is a house flipper and renovator. She gets into an auto accident, and needs physical therapy where she meets the hero. My son asked me why I had so many books on these subjects and I explained they were research for my book, and also because we want to add a set of cupboards/small office area in our large kitchen/dining area.

I’m going to try and get to my May, June, and July reading wrap ups in the next few weeks. Of course now, we’re at the end of August and I’ll have that one to work on! Sigh. Oh, well, never a lack of writing topics around here when you’re a #bookworm, right?

That’s about it from here, I need to get back to the novel and my summer is winding down. Next Wednesday we will start our home school up again and though I love my kiddos and enjoy home schooling for the most part, most days :), I always feel like I die a little inside when it’s time to start up again. Which is really kind of silly since I am still able to write 2-3 times a week after we start. I guess I’m always afraid I won’t be able to fit writing into my days, and that possibility depresses me.

That’s it for now in my corner of the world. What did you enjoy most about this summer?

Happy reading!

~~Michelle

  1. That’s so awesome that you homeschool your kids! I was homeschooled for basically all my school life and looooved it so much (it gave me plenty of opportunities to write and I was able to get credit for some of my books too 😂) but I do understand the pressure that would build up to keep everything going smoothly and still have time for yourself to write. Good luck with it all!
