For this week’s prompt, I wanted to share how my kids play library/librarian.
It was fun watching my younger two kids play library a few weeks ago, although they made a huge mess. They got out almost all their kid books, put them in stacks on the piano bench, the floor and a shelf unit we store our home school books on. They took turns being librarian and checking out books. I had to take turns being a patron. You can see their free bookmarks next to their ‘phone’ in the first photo (we certainly have a collection of those!)
If I had to get a job, I think it would be fun to work in the library and see all the books coming and going. I would probably get in trouble though for reading 🙂
What about you? Did you ever play librarian when you were a kid? Do you have a prompt to share about a library memory or anything related?
Happy reading!

I don’t remember playing librarian when I was a kid, but we certainly had enough books in our house to start a library! My sister, brother, and I were bookworms from a young age and I have fond memories of being taken to book fairs and bringing home piles of old books, and of our fortnightly visits to the local library.

Now that I think about it, I remember putting pockets in the back of my books and making check out cards. It must run in the family 🙂
Going to the library or book fairs was always a treat! Glad you got to go often too!

Can’t remember playing library…but can remember playing AT the library! My home town had a Carnegie Library sporting a lush green lawn surrounded by a wrought iron fence. We could get books from the library and then sit under the trees wiggling our toes in the grass and reading all afternoon. Heaven! They also had comfy leather chairs we could snuggle into and lose ourselves in stories. My library card was my most treasured possession. 🙂
