Writing Prompt Wednesday #59: Reading Goals

Hello there,

This week on WPW, I wanted to write about reading. Recently I got my reading wrap up from Goodreads listing all the books I read this year. I met my goal of 75 books, and exceeded it by 2 (so far). I’m still reading and there are still a few weeks to go.

Are you on Goodreads? Do you make reading goals for the year, or for each month? I like to make yearly ones as some months I will read more than others, depending on what is going on in my life.

I love this time of year when I can curl up with a book by the fire and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa (preferably from Starbucks). 🙂 (If anyone felt led to send me gift cards from them, they would readily be accepted, not that I’m outright asking or anything.)

The old cliche of ‘too many books, not enough time’ definitely applies to my life! You’ve seen some stacks earlier this year of books in my to be read (TBR) piles. And they keep coming! Always something new coming out to catch my eye.

Do you enjoy reading? Do you make goals? Or do you just keep a running list of books you’ve read?

Happy Reading,

~~Michelle

  1. This year was the first year I set myself a reading goal on Goodreads. I exceeded my goal by a couple, so I will probably increase it next year. I think it is fun to have a list you can look back on to see what you have read during the year.

  2. Oh, I agree too. It was the coolest thing to see all those book covers pictured. I had no idea they did that. I like to set a goal also, I exceeded it this year by about 25 books.
