Wow, I thought June’s wrap up came fast. July’s came even faster!
This month, I haven’t read as many books, because I was trying to set up a signing in Nebraska for when we would be there, but after several calls and looking up bakeries and coffee shops, it wasn’t to be.
I read a YA book, Dangerous Lies by Becca Fitzpatrick for the summer reading program and really enjoyed this story. It was about a young girl in the witness protection program who had to start her life over in a small Nebraska town. She made new friends and realized the truth about her mom and her former boyfriend.
Then I read the book, One Thing, which I posted about earlier this month. And Deadly Medicine by Donald Bain, a Margaret Truman book, but it was not nearly as good as Truman would have written it.
I also read the first book in a new series by James Scott Bell, called Romeo’s Rules. Romeo is quite the character.
I also read Dog On It by Spencer Quinn, the first in his Chet and Bernie series, told from Chet’s perspective, which is comical as Chet is a dog. Quite fun.
I just finished The Prince of Risk by Christopher Reich, a new to me author. It’s a bit financially complicated at times, but the plot is suspenseful and has lots of threads to make it interesting. I will for sure read more of his books.
That’s it for July.
