Hello Readers,
Just thought I’d post a short update on those 31 books I’ve been reading. Yesterday, I finished one called, Above Suspicion by Helen MacInnes. I will rate it on GR later, but I loved this book.
Why? First of all, it came out in 19….41! Yes, 1941. We all know what was going on in the early forties, the war we now know as World War II. Anyway, who doesn’t love a books with spies, danger, guns and suspense? I highly recommend it.
I’m interested to know more about the author, how she nailed the mindset of the Nazi’s so well and how long it took her to write it, and then get it published.
Any other WWII fans out there?
Happy reading!
~~Michelle
I love WWII books, but one of my favorites takes place just after the end of the war. Armageddon by Leon Uris is the story of the Berlin airlift…a story of perseverance, ingenuity and courage that is too often neglected when US history is discussed. It’s a great read.
